Previous Fabrication Work we have Performed for Our Clients
Below you will find a little case study of how we managed to help one of our clients with the use of our fabrication services.
Fabricated Industrial 'Y Piece' Components

How we did it
Main Unit Body
The main body of the 'Y piece' pipe component consists of 160mm diameter PVC-U pipe with a 225mm diameter pipe intersecting at 45 degrees. Cuts were engineered in the 160mm pipe to allow the 225mm pipe to perfectly intersect the 160mm. The intersecting end of the 225mm pipe was fitted with a plate to channel the piped media into the 160mm without spillage. The assembly was then rod welded for strength, durability and pressure-resistance.
Flanged Ends
The ends of the 160mm diameter pipe have off-the-shelf stub flanges solvent welded on to them, which allow the unit be bolted on to the clients existing pipework installation with the use of gaskets and the integrated backing rings.
Backing Rings
The backing rings in the pictures are all machined to the client's specific requirements from 30mm thick UPVC material. Off-the-shelf backing rings generally aren't available in 30mm thick, which was a specific requirement from the client for extra strength. The two rings on either end of the 160mm pipe are machined to NP16 drill standard, basically so the bolts will align with what is already installed, which are of a standard NP16 bolt specification. The backing ring on the 225mm pipe section is machined with the holes in a non-standard bolting specification for their bespoke requirements and welded directly on to the 'Y' component as a rigid flange to be bolted directly onto client's existing machine
Clients Requirements
Our client received a bespoke component that matched their needs perfectly and was able to be bolted directly into the their existing pipework installation with ease. The client was so pleased with the outcome of our fabricated component, that we have since been commissioned again and completed a further five; shown in the image ready to be dispatched.
