d: Any water fitting, which when installed, will carry or receive water from the public mains water supply in the UK, must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations or Scottish Byelaws. These require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’.

BSP (British Standard Pipe) is by far the most common standard of thread for all pipework in Great Britain, so this elbow will fit most threaded pipe fittings in the UK. The elbow is designed to accept a fitting of any material with a male BSP thread, such as brass taps. BSP thread is always measured and referenced in inches, so any metric to BSP threaded fittings essentially convert metric to imperial. They will be shown with metric dimensions referring to the pipe outer diameter and the imperial size referring to the nominal bore of your threaded fitting.
