Designed to be used with 2 ½" PVC-U Pressure Pipe and Fittings.
General Overview and Usage This PVC Plain Single Union Standard Ball Valve is made from the material unplasticised polyvinyl chloride with a PTFE seat. These Single Union Standard Ball Valves have one union on one side of the valve which allows for disconnection from a pipe for cleaning or maintenance at one end of the valve. However, the other side of the valve is a plain socket which can be left open to allow run-off at the end of a pipeline, this type of valve is also known as a dump valve or end-of-line valve for this reason. The plain end can also be cemented to 2½" pipes and fittings, but the valve will be inseparable from anything that is cemented to the plain end, making maintenance potentially more difficult; if the valve is to be used within a pipeline rather than at the end, then a double union valve may be better option.
This valve is ideal for general water and lower integrity applications. The unit's ball valve has a handle which enables manual control to turn the flow completely on or off.

Any water fitting, which when installed, will carry or receive water from the public mains water supply in the UK, must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations or Scottish Byelaws. These require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’.
Thermal Properties PVC-U shows very good characteristics in the temperature range from 0 to 60°c. At lower temperatures the impact strength drops considerably. For further information about pipes & fittings please click on our Tech Talk
